Journals from the Fey Realm: Day 1

A serial saga being told entirely in haiku/senryu form over on Bluesky.  Here it is collated as I’m able to update it. Enjoy.

I danced gleefully
within a ring of mushrooms…
Oh wait… where am I?

I’m alone, Counting
five things I see, four I hear
the panic is near.

Sand, a seashore, waves
lighthouse, lightning slashes green
against a red sky.

My clothes are vinyl
records scratching susurrus
into porous skin.

Where to begin to
find my way in liminal,
primordial realms?

Footsteps on coastline
braiding my way as dusk sets
bronze horizon lines

I no longer see
sound breaking self, tide waters
rise to fill my mind.

Within the darkness
I find a cave, chorus cries
out from stalactite

beauty in the song
resounding calm, the cave says
“Rest here for the night.”

I cuddle shadows
light in warm embrace, thinking
I just might survive

swallowing starscapes
as I sleep softly, dreaming
of returning home.
